Castle and chateau Staré Hrady near Jičín
The castle and chateau of Staré Hrady near Jičína is a unique Renaissance group of buildings with figural sgraffito. The first mention dates back to 1340. It was originally a Gothic castle, with the characteristic elements created in the shop of Petr Parléř, with an adjacent Renaissance chateau and bailey.
Re-opened in 2008.
Tour I: CASTLE AND CHATEAU
The tour around the castle and the chateau is called Life in the period of Emperor Francis Joseph I. Through a thousand exhibits, the life of ordinary people, townsmen and noblemen during under the rule of the Hapsburg family is presented.
Tour II: FAIRY-TALE CELLARS
Tour III – FAIRY-TALE LOFT
The tours called Back in time to experience a fairy-tale I and II will take you to the former Renaissance and Baroque cellars and to the castle loft where some 150 fairy-tale creatures were brought to life, including goblins and little ghosts from tale of Fábulín, the magic grandfather.
